CADArchive

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how CADArchive collects, uses and protects information when you use this website. CADArchive is designed to allow visitors to browse and download CAD files without creating an account.

2. Information we collect

To help improve the website and understand how the library is used, CADArchive collects limited technical and usage information, including:

  • Downloaded CAD files and search queries entered on the website.
  • Pages viewed, referring website, and general (country-level) location.
  • Device type and browser information.
  • General website usage statistics, such as which pages and categories are most viewed.

CADArchive does not require users to create an account in order to browse or download files.

3. CAD submissions

If you submit a CAD file to CADArchive through the Share a CAD Block page, we collect the file itself along with the title, category and description you provide. These are used only to review your submission and, if it is approved, to help prepare it for publication — see our Terms of Use for how a submission may be edited before publication.

The email address on the submission form is entirely optional — only if you’d like us to contact you about your submission. We never display a contributor’s email address publicly, and we do not use it for marketing simply because you submitted a file.

To help prevent abuse of the submission form (for example, a large number of automated submissions in a short period), we generate a one-way cryptographic hash of the submitting device’s IP address at the time of submission. We do not store the IP address itself, and the hash cannot practically be reversed back into an IP address. It is used only to detect unusually high submission volumes from the same source and is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose.

4. Cookies and analytics

CADArchive sets two first-party cookies to support the website analytics described above: one identifies your browser across visits, and one identifies a single browsing session (this one expires after 30 minutes of inactivity). Neither is used to identify you personally, and neither is shared with advertisers.

CADArchive also uses Vercel Analytics, an aggregated, privacy-focused analytics service, to help understand overall site performance and usage.

5. Advertising

CADArchive may display advertising, including advertising services provided by Google (such as Google AdSense). When advertising is active on this site:

  • Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure how those ads perform.
  • Ads may be personalised (based on your browsing activity, where permitted) or non-personalised, depending on your location and your cookie choices.
  • If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, CADArchive uses a Google-certified consent management platform to ask for your permission — where required by law — before any cookies used for advertising are set. You can change your choice at any time through the consent tool shown on the site.

You can find out more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage your Google ad personalisation settings at adssettings.google.com. You can also manage third-party advertising cookies generally via optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.

CADArchive does not control the cookies set by Google or other advertising partners, and this Privacy Policy does not cover their own use of your information — please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

6. Service providers

CADArchive uses trusted third-party providers to operate the website, including:

  • Vercel for website hosting.
  • Supabase for the application database.
  • Cloudflare R2 for secure file storage.

These providers may process limited information as required to deliver their services.

7. Data retention

Usage information and analytics data are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and improve CADArchive, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access, correction or deletion where applicable under relevant data protection laws.

If you have any questions or wish to exercise your rights, please contact us using the email address below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page together with an updated revision date.
